AICAR and compound C negatively modulate HCC-induced primary human hepatic stellate cell activation in vitro

نویسندگان

چکیده

HCC is marked by genetic heterogeneity and activated hepatic stellate cells (HSC) are considered key players during development. The paracrine effect of different cell lines on the activation primary hHSC was accompanied differential AMPK depending line used. Pharmacological treatment inhibited HCC-induced through AMPK-dependent AMPK-independent mechanisms. This heterogenic confirmed data mining TCGA LICA-FR databases.

In vitro reversion of activated primary human hepatic stellate cells

BACKGROUND Liver fibrosis is characterized by the excessive formation and accumulation of matrix proteins as a result of wound healing in the liver. A main event during fibrogenesis is the activation of the liver resident quiescent hepatic stellate cell (qHSC). Recent studies suggest that reversion of the activated HSC (aHSC) phenotype into a quiescent-like phenotype could be a major cellular m...

Pharmacological Intervention in Hepatic Stellate Cell Activation and Hepatic Fibrosis

The activation and transdifferentiation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) into contractile, matrix-producing myofibroblasts (MFBs) are central events in hepatic fibrogenesis. These processes are driven by autocrine- and paracrine-acting soluble factors (i.e., cytokines and chemokines). Proof-of-concept studies of the last decades have shown that both the deactivation and removal of hepatic MFBs ...

Platelet-derived adenosine 5'-triphosphate suppresses activation of human hepatic stellate cell: In vitro study.

AIM   Activated hepatic stellate cells (HSC) play a critical role in liver fibrosis. Suppressing abnormal function of HSC or reversion from activated to quiescent form is a hopeful treatment for liver cirrhosis. The interaction between platelets and HSC remains unknown although platelets go through hepatic sinusoids surrounded by HSC. This study aimed at clarifying the hypothesis that platelets...

Elevated Levels of Endocannabinoids in Chronic Hepatitis C May Modulate Cellular Immune Response and Hepatic Stellate Cell Activation

The endocannabinoid (EC) system is implicated in many chronic liver diseases, including hepatitis C viral (HCV) infection. Cannabis consumption is associated with fibrosis progression in patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC), however, the role of ECs in the development of CHC has never been explored. To study this question, anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoyl glycerol (2-AG) were quantified i...

Transcriptional regulation of hepatic stellate cell activation.

The hepatic stellate cell (HSC) is now well established as the key cellular element involved in the development of hepatic fibrosis and because of this there is considerable interest in establishing the molecular events that trigger and perpetuate HSC activation. HSC activation at the level of gene transcription requires the coordinated activity of several key transcriptional regulators of the ...
